A Minecraft Movie, the perfect Minecraft Analogue for some reason...

Here is another movie that was mired in controversy from the start, either because the sheep had human teeth, or because they choose this to be an Isekai where live action characters travel the Minecraft over world for some reason, or because of the internet's favorite reason to hate a property...

Politics and Racism... Because of course...

Now I saw "A Minecraft Movie" and yes that is the title, not gonna make writing this article difficult at all is it, so I saw it, and I had one reaction...

I think I should play Minecraft....

but okay...

If I am a Minecraft fan... why would I watch this movie?

You see on the surface this is not a good movie, it has a paint by numbers plot, lots of awkward moments, the comedy often doesn't land, and Steve is not the Main Character, he is the NPC that introduces you to the game mechanics

Yes villagers, I am surprised too...

And also Speaking of Villagers, a Villager makes it into the real world and has a date with the main kid's school principal...

And it's so bad it's good...

Kinda like the movie...

You see, when you first play Minecraft you think that this is Trash, like it's blocky, looks like it is from the eighties, but then you reach the night, and the thing becomes survival horror for some reason, and then you go online and see all the things people are making...

And then you really like Minecraft...

In fact creativity is a key thing in this movie, and the main kid represents the average creative modder, as per the movie makers....

And just like the game, you see the movie, dislike it, and then you go online and see people making their own fun from it, and you see all the references, and how in touch with the source material it is, and you suddenly like it...

It's a love that crosses all barriers, like the love between the villager and the principal.

Such Personality...

And so even tho the theatre I went to was empty, this thing has now earned more than 300 million dollars worldwide in a single weekend, that is equal to the lifetime of some films, looking at you Black Widow, and Captain America Brave new World, wtf are you doing Marvel, Thunderbolts better be good...

Yes there's not much more to say about this, go watch the movie, its a fun enough time and you will like the references....
