Girl from Nowhere the Reset, In a world where everything is Reset, are there still some good people?

Nanno looking at Sky as she cradles his dead body.

The final Episode of Girl From no where the Reset did exactly what I was afraid of, they killed Sky.

And while at the very least they did not suddenly make him evil like I feared, But they had to go and get him killed didn't they?

All things considered though, they did make a good point though at the end.

Even if it required killing off Sky.

It's not that I particularly liked him or anything, it's that I wanted them to embrace this bold new direction they had chosen, but whatever.

Also, the ending implies that the world has been reset in universe, which... how did that happen?

One way or the other, all I could think about by the end was that if Nanno's blood can save Yuri and Junko, why didn't she use it to save Sky? Perhaps she didn't want him becoming like her? Maybe it works only on women? Maybe in this continuity she doesn't know of it yet?

I honestly thought that's where they were going with this, a power couple to the end, one showing mercy and another consequences.

And Sky did not need to save her, did he... not know that already?

I wonder....

But lets actually talk about what is happening this episode.

Nanno asks Paradorn to Think again,

Nanno comes to a school where a new student body president is being elected, and the current number one candidate on the surface seems to have planned and thought it through as to what he wants to put forth, what policies he wants to pass and everything, but behind it all he is just power hungry.

He might be the right fit and all that, and maybe he believes that he cares for this place, and who knows if he comes into power he might even do good, and it seems that he does because the way we see him by the end of it all people seem to really like him all things considered.

But regardless of all that, like we know for every single case ever of the Girl from nowhere, he has a darker side.

It seems he is Ms. Aum Lite?

You remember the teacher who in season 1 episode 10 decided to set extra hard rules for kids in the name of education and then it turned out she smothered her kid after her husband left her and then shot gunned everyone to death?

Ms. Aum taking out a shot gun from her kids stroller to shoot literally everyone.

Yeah imagine if she was a student and also actually had good ideas? That's Paradorn.

So the advantage of this is that because he passes as a normal person, unless there is something actually triggering he will go unnoticed, and pass under the radar.

The problem however with people like this, is that they are absolute control freaks, and anything can get them going.

For example, the moment Nanno comes in and starts giving out free kisses to those who give her Ideas, at first he deals with it in a classy manner, even though the anger underneath is very apparent.

Paradorn offers a Handshake to Nanno

His team however seems to be ready to go to any lengths to make him win, like for example using AI to put Nanno's face on someone else, and while of course it's not clear that they did it themselves, Paradorn's team did popularize it without checking first.

And given that later on they are ready to switch out the Ballot boxes for his sake I would not be surprised if they did fake that video?

While Paradorn claims this isn't for personal gain, his teammates certainly seem good at saying the quiet part out loud.

But before all that, once Paradorn sees that Nanno's superficial methods work more, he himself sets up a scenario where he appears like the Hero, it's all fake of course, the interesting thing is what he does when he finds out what his friends did for him.

Paradorn beats up his own teammate to a bloody pulp.

He resigns and reveals the deception by his own team, which on the surface seems like a good things, but when Nanno shows him what happens in the Future and that no one cares about him taking responsibility....

Nanno rewinds time and gives him another chance.

This time, he just deletes the evidence...

Nanno doesn't need that evidence, she knows that the saving stunt was staged.

And like everything was pointing at anyways....

He plans to kill Nanno.

Now like I said Sky didn't need to jump in there, I mean he didn't when she was torn apart on a live stream, but okay...

But the point the end is pretty neat, Sky was surrounded by darkness, yet he chose not to change who he is, where as Paradorn is surrounded by light, by win after win, and yet he feeds his inner darkness.

I guess the above is why Nanno fell for Sky, because if this is the same version of Nanno with the world simply reset as the ending implies, it would appear that her origin is still cannon, you know that time when an entire school of people beat her to death because someone else cheated on his girlfriend with her and she was considered the "weird one" and the girl being cheated on threatened to kill herself.

The end frame is fucking Iconic, a reversal of the classic trope of the Valliant knight carrying the Fair Maiden.

And it fucking works.

Nanno carrying Sky's dead body off into the Forest, presumably to bury it I guess???

The strangest thing is, that this is somehow the shortest episode, and simultaneously, the shortest season?

Like I know the reset has only one season, but the show they are resetting had two with one of 13 episodes and one of 8....

Both of which are in line with the expected number at the time, so... did they try to copy the Disney Plus structure?

Because I gotta tell you, it's only them, literally no one else does like less than 8 per season, and even they are changing that now, so....

Regardless, doing what he did, Paradorn really cemented his fate, I mean it was cemented before, but now this shit is personal for Nanno.

Nanno exposes Paradorn.
I mean you see it, you see it in her eyes, no scary laugh, no smile, just a straight up death glare.

And so after all this, we are all left with the eternal question.

Well two actually, first being why they didn't just make a season 3?? I mean I guess because Chicha Amatayakul is outgrowing the role now? Girl is thirty two, and she was already quite old when the show started around 24 ish I think, which makes Becky the perfect choice age wise at least.

But then who is the better Nanno, Becky or Chicha?

Or is there even a better Nanno? Are they both just good in their own ways?

I guess we will never know, one thing is certain though, neither can replace the other.

Swadee ka, Nanno na ka(Hello. I'm Nanno.)
