Daredevil Born Again Season 2 Episode 5, Full Circle.

Buck Cashman meets James Wesley in a Flashback.

Daredevil Born Again season 2 is really making up for all the shit that Season one tried to pull, and I as a fan really appreciate it.

We left Last episode with Bullseye thinking in his own detailed way that killing Fisk will balance the scales that he so carelessly got manipulated into setting off in the first place by killing Foggy at the Beginning of Born again season 1.

And we start here exactly where we left off, With Vanessa bleeding from her brain with a glass shard in her Temple, and Daredevil Carrying a Bullseye who is bleeding out from the Shot Vanessa Landed on him.

This episode is split in half in two ways, firstly we look at Kingpin's Side and then we look at Daredevil's and Bullseye's side.

But as well this episode is split into the present and the Past. As we, after four fucking seasons lay eyes on Wesley again.

And not for no reason, the interactions between Buck and Wesley in the past essentially cement the reason as to why Kingpin hired Buck as the replacement for Wesley.

But that is not where the Flashbacks start.

They start with two things, two people who are dead... or about to be.

Foggy and Matt in a Flashback.

This flashback above happens at a crucial time when Matt is trying his best to help out Bullseye who is bleeding out, and Bullseye is doing his best to be a massive prick about it.

And these Flashbacks are really neat, not only do they tie the whole thing together, making the title of the episode mean that much more, i.e. "the Grand Design."

Which is an Idea that God's Design is a beautiful Tapestry that we can only see a part of, and if we could see the whole thing then we would appreciate it as God does, and the sad part about the Human condition is that we only ever get to see the ugly parts, the back where the threads are all sticking out...

But yeah, the Flashbacks add to that Idea, but as well, they literally switch to the old colour grading and aspect Ratio.

I got to say, this is the right way to do a Reboot, the God of War way.

Kratos Retrieves the blades of Chaos from his house as Athena watches him in God of War 2018
But I am your Monster no Longer.

Now on the whole these flashbacks don't really add that much to the story as a whole, they do not tell us much more than what we already know, but one thing they do serve is cement Kingpin and Matt's relation to these two people in question.

For Matthew it shows how and why Foggy was so important to him, and more specifically it shows the Irony of the situation that Bullseye killed Foggy, who was essentially Matt's Moral Compass, and it is essentially in respect to his memory that Matt chooses to save him.

"I'm trying to save you because I tried to kill you."

In the Past Foggy saves the life of one Lionel, someone who had some sort of problem with Fisk, and since at the time Matt and Foggy were still working at Landman and Zack, a law firm shadow run by Fisk, and so they are to get him to sign a plea deal to get less jail time.

Problem being of course that the moment he goes in, Fisk's men kill him in a Prison fight.

Foggy and Matt find a way to give him a get out of Jail free card, but Matt doesn't agree to let him walk Scott Free, and it is actually Foggy who quotes his Catholicism at him and later gives all the funds they collected to Lionel, someone who bullied him as a kid, so he can get a Fresh start.

In the present Day, as AVTF officers close in on Matt and Bullseye in the church of Father Lantom, Matt has a way out, he can let Bullseye die, but his memory won't let him do it.

Daredevil gives his greatest enemy Bullseye a hand to help him up.

But speaking of Being massive, Prick, Bullseye actually makes an interesting point, that perhaps all of this is just bullshit, us going around trying to do the right thing, Doctors, Nurses, Vigilantes, Heroes.

It doesn't make a difference, at the end of the day, we are who we are, we are all scratching some sort of itch, and that is all life is.

The Grand Design.

He says this however right after Matt makes a reference to a Nurse he knows, now that could be Clair Temple's Night Nurse, played by Rosario Dawson, or it could be that Karen has a Nursing Wig to try out.

We don't know.

What I do know is that seeing Bullseye address Daredevil as brother is something I did not know I needed in my life, but I am glad it happened.

I hope you know what you are doing Matt, because Karen does not look happy, she is more of a Punisher type of person you know, as seen in the second season of the punisher and the third episode of this season.

Bullseye and Daredevil make it to Karen Page.

But like I said, this is only half of what happens in this season, Vanessa is on the operating table and she dreams of the Vacation she had with Fisk in their beach house, or perhaps of a future together there, as well her mind goes back to a time before she had met Fisk, and we see how these two were destined to be together.

As Vanessa had a feeling about Rabbit in a snow storm before she put it on display, and of course without it her and Fisk would never have connected.

Fisk and Wesley talk about Diversifying their business, they mention Bit coin, which I believe at the time was a new thing people were investing in, And Fisk mentions the Russians, which I don't get what happened because this is obviously before Fisk kills one of them for embarrassing him in front of Vanessa.

And we see that The Rabbit in the snow storm isn't the first thing Fisk saw, it was Vanessa, and cut to present day, Fisk wants Daredevil and Bullseye alive so he can personally beat the shit out of them.

But as the surgery seems to succeed, and Vanessa wakes up, we see a side to Fisk we have never seen before, Vulnerable, Crying, broken.

As Vincent D'Onofrio Described him, Monster and Child.

Kingpin asks Vanessa: "What can I do? Can I do something for you?"

And I got to say, his acting here really got me.

I felt bad for him, as I personally began to see the signs that Perhaps Vanessa is not all there, that there is at the very least some lasting Damage, she slurs her words, speaks strangely, like a child.

But Unlike Wilson, this is probably sign of Brain Damage, she wants to have Pineapple juice, something she previously claimed to hate, but now she finds it divine...

And she asks of the Story of how they met.. and she repeats herself... and as Kingpin holds her hand, she codes and dies...

And as we see what are probably the last moments of calm before the storm we realize just how fucked everyone is, even as we feel an intense sadness for the Tragedy in front of our eyes.

Vanessa codes in the Hospital.

Nothing can ever be the same again, and as she fades, we see a glimpse of her last memories, the first time she and Wilson Saw each other, the afterlife she wishes for...

In the middle of All this, like I said, we learn of Buck's backstory, Buck is hired by Wesley to take care of Lionel, and while he does fail at it, it seems the personal recommendation stuck with Fisk, and Daniel was right about Buck's past.

He did indeed work for her majesty in the Regiment 22, he went after Opium farmers in Afghanistan and no man of fighting age was to survive, which her Majesty considered to be fourteen.

Buck did what was asked of him, just like he does the same for Kingpin now.

And Daniel is practically shitting bricks, as he realizes that Buck probably thinks it is him who leaked it to the news that Vanessa is in critical condition as well as the location of the hospital she is at.

But it wasn't exactly him, BB tracked him on her own, and then she emotionally Manipulated him.

BB Hugs Daniel.

And I got to say, based on gangster movies, they play the last drive you don't return from part really well, as Buck gets supplies to bury a body, Daniel really does think that he is done for and so he pleads for his life, says he will disappear with no Trace.

But Buck, playing into his insecurities, brings him into the Fold, asking him to bury the first mate of the Northern Star with him, to cross that line.

And it seems that Daniel has had enough with BB and is going to go after him, and Honestly I don't think BB dies, for one it would be too much like Ben, and secondly, I guess killing off Buck and making Daniel the new him is way more interesting, either that or Daniel dies.

I don't know, well what I do know is that they need to hurry up and bring in Jessica Jones, but, on the same hand, I am glad I have more time to finish the third season now.

Jessica Jones in the Daredevil born again season 2 trailer.

The Punisher also should make an appearance, but it seems he is busy shooting the One last kill special, and so we gotta wait for that innit?
