This season of Jessica Jones is Complicated, because in a sense it doesn't really have a true Antagonist, sure it has people like Shane Ryback and Inez who do antagonistic acts but in a true sense there is no main Antagonist.
At first it appears to be Dr. Karl Malus and the people at IGH whose experiments created Jessica Jones post the accident that almost killed her along with the rest of her family.
In fact the more you learn about IGH, the more they appear to be unhinged villains who are using a "monster" as a hitman to kill those who would expose them, people like Simpson who was experimented on by Dr. Kozlov and turned into Nuke.
In this season though, Nuke only takes a inhaler and not his characteristic Red, White and Blue "pills" because now he wants to be "in control."
Too bad, he dead.

The Death of Simpson is what cements in stone the fact that IGH is evil as whoever is behind IGH is using a killer to kill people willy-nilly and has just killed Simpson who previously was a secondary antagonist of Jessica Jones, his Death and that of another superpowered individual called Whizzer are what bring Jessica and Trish into the fold of Investigating IGH.
Well that's what brings Jessica in, Trish was already in because she wanted her story for her podcast Trish Talk and also wanted to help her sister Jessica in the process.
Jess obviously isn't too chuffed by this in the beginning as she is not the type to go after stuff like this proactively.
So who are the evil masterminds behind these evil company called IGH?
Well other than Kozlov who is also dead in this season.
Well who other than Jessica Jones' mother.
Wait what?

Yes, it turns out that Alisa Jones A.K.A. Jessica Jones' mother, actually didn't die in that car accident and is actually alive and married to the not evil Dr. Karl Malus, who really truly wanted to save the world.
Yeah Kozlov was just a dickhead who stole Malus's work and used it for evil because of course he is.
And you know what they say about mothers, no matter how evil or messed up, they are still your mother, so obviously Jessica flip flops multiple times about whether or not to give her mother up because while she is a cold blooded killer it is also very clear that the experiments done on her that gave her powers also made her mentally unstable and she doesn't really have control over her actions.
Control or not, it is soon revealed that she has a very different view of using her Powers compared to Jessica, unlike Jess she straight up believes in killing someone if they are enough of a threat as evidenced by her wanting to kill Pryce Cheng a fellow private eye who wants to take out the competition A.K.A. Jessica Jones and Alias Investigations by either buying them out or shutting them down.
In order to do this he teams up with Jeri Hogarth who is Facing her own issues with being forced out of her company by her co owners because she has ALS, for those who do not know, that is the same disease that made Stephen Hawking become wheelchair bound in his later years.
Hope comes for Jeri in the form of Inez a former nurse in IGH who now lives as a Homeless woman and also happens to be a key witness in the Case Jessica is building against IGH and so is kept in a "safe house" alongside Jeri Hogarth.

She introduces Jeri to Shane, a "healer" from the set of IGH experiments.
But if you have been reading, you will know that Shane is an Antagonist and that is because he has no healing powers and he is using Inez alongside many other women who are desperate enough to fall for his lies.
One such woman is Jeri who he uses to get himself out of prison and then robs for all her worth alongside Inez who believes that he is in love with her.
Later on of course it is revealed that Shane is a conman and can't be trusted and so Inez shoots him, all that is cool and all except Jeri and Inez had a crazy night after being drunk for celebration purposes.
So it seems to be all downhill for Jeri, but other hope comes for her in the form of a disgraced by Jessica Malcom who wants to complete the investigation on Jeri's colleagues so she can blackmail them into not forcing her out of her profession and the Firm she built, because as they say, for being one of the three owners of the company, the clients that are brought in by her alone, make up over half their Billable hours

But Malcom right, he is a recovering addict and while yes, his addiction was the result of Killgrave controlling him, it is quite clear to himself and those he was close with that he was one bad day away from being a full on addict.
So really he just became more of what he already was, And he is particularly forced to come to terms with his past way more so than Jessica and the others as his entire arc in this season is centered around coming to terms with his past.
Parallel to that is the arc that Trish walker goes on, you see even though Jessica is the one who drinks the most, and Trish is the sober friend, in fact the whole IGH thing began as a way for Trish to stop Jessica from drinking so much, it turns out that in the past, it was Trish who was actually the one who had a Drug problem.
Based on their common Drug problems and their common disdain for Jessica having what they want but cant have but still wasting it, they become closer and end up hooking up multiple times, but where Malcom wants to stop his Drug problems, Trish wants more so that she can finally be on even grounds with Jessica.
And this leads her to betray Malcom massively and go with Dr. Karl Malus to get more of Simpson's inhaler, or so it seems until the Experiments start and it turns out she is trying to get powers permanently believing she can do the whole Hero thing better than Jessica.
I mean she says it so on her Podcast.

It seems she is going towards her comic book counter part Hellcat who is also a superpowered Hero.
But what is Jessica's arc in this season?
Jessica like everyone else in this season is coming to terms with having her best dream handed to her then and there no questions asked.
And what a Nightmare it is, her mother is alive, she has what she wanted all this time, but her mother is a murderer, to make things worse, she is not entirely in control so Jessica has to choose between total imprisonment on the Raft and running away with her mother.
A mother who doesn't make that choice easy, and as if things weren't complicated enough Jessica has a new boyfriend who began by making sure she can't stay in her apartment, wait what?
And painted her sleeping, okay then...
But he is sweet, so if she leaves she will be leaving him behind, not seeing any other way her mom sacrifices her dream of saving people with her daughter and gets ready to surrender, too bad Trish kills her.

She could have had a future where she was still alive and Jessica would come to meet her but now Jessica must mourn her mother again and that too after she was murdered by her best friend.
But that isn't the only murdering this season, there was Jessica's second murder which she did on accident to protect her mom from a rogue prison guard.
This is a huge thing for Jess because while this isn't her first kill, it is her first kill of someone who she wasn't sure that there was no other way. Killgrave was different, he had to die.
But Killgrave is what comes back in her head when she struggles to come to terms with her actions.
So that was quite depressing, Her best friend and sister kills her mother, the guy she saves from Killgrave and his own addiction betrays her, steals her client and then leaves her to associate with the rival private investigator Pryce Cheng, and her lawyer is conned and also has a terminal illness.
All people who got a chance to live their dream, did, and then regretted it, turns out dreams when they come to reality turn into nightmares.
