After the end of the previous Chapter, where once again everything could have been ended in a positive fashion but didn't because Winston decided to pull a top 10 anime betrayals and shoot John Wick.
So in this movie John begins by asking the brand new elder that changed in the six months since the previous chapter for some reason, to return his wedding ring, but the Ring is gone, like the elder before him.
And so John Shoots him.

And you know, Seriously, I don't get the level of overconfidence one needs to have in order to think that they can simply stand and Monologue in front of an Assassin that they trained and not face deadly consequences.
However, this action though cathartic leads to further Consequences for John and anyone even remotely connected to him.
Starting with, of course, Mr. Winston, his hotel is once again Condemned, while previously it was simply deconsecrated which made it so that it was no longer a neutral Ground and business could freely be conducted on the grounds, but now, it is going to be destroyed.
All of this came at the behest of the Marquis who has been elevated by the board by his singular promise to kill John Wick and end this mess permanently, it was by his command that the Hotel Continental is condemned as retaliation for the death of the Elder.
Also Marquis kills Charon, who was Winston's concierge, as a show of power...
Now Idk what the villains of these franchises are high on, but it is shit like this that causes your enemies to team up against you.
And so the Bowery king and Winston meet to discuss what is to be done moving forwards, in the Osaka Continental with one of his old friends Shimazu Koji, whose concierge is also his daughter Akira.
She believes her father is working too hard and wants him to take some time off, and is unaware of John's presence, it is also in the scene of the introduction of the Osaka Continental that we first meet a bounty hunter named Mr. Nobody who we immediately suspect will somehow end up helping John because he too is a proud dog owner that he chooses to keep in spite of the Osaka continental's rules against animals, as it is his, "emotional support animal."

This Continental unfortunately, is also deconsecrated and attacked by The high table's forces, this time lead by a blind ex assassin called Caine, who is one of the few who can ever stand a chance against John Wick, in spite or perhaps because of his blindness.
This attack leads to Akira being wounded and Koji being killed because he won't back down from his brotherhood to John unlike Caine, Caine tries his best to reason with his former friend but it doesn't work.
But he convinces his daughter to live for his memory.

You see, Caine and Wick were once brothers, as were Caine and Koji, it is a sad death then when Caine is forced to kill Koji, for fear of the high table going after his daughter, who he cannot meet lest they kill her.
One could almost say he is the antagonist of this movie, were it not for the numerous number of times he helps John in this one, but in order to understand that, we must first understand what is the way that John is finally going to solve all his problems.
Killing the Marquis will not solve anything just like it didn't with killing Santino D'Antonio.
Unless of course.

John Decides to enter a high table duel against the Marquis de Garmont, with the consequences being that if he looses, him and his second die, but if he wins, The Marquis is dead and John is free of the High Table, and his second; i.e. Winston, gains back control of the now reinstated New York Continental.
But in order for this to work out John must be a part of a family, previously of course, he was, but ever since he punched his ticket with the Ruska Roma, he is no longer a part of the Roma.
So he must "mend" his ticket.
And what do you know, currently, his sister Katia seeks revenge against another High Table member called Killa who killed her father Pyotr on the orders of the Marquis.
And what do you know, here are Mr. Nobody and Caine on the orders of the Marquis to kill John, and in order to resolve this conundrum, Killa suggests a game of cards.

He cheats leading to all three of them hating him and the most satisfying death in this franchise because somehow in the twenty minutes this guy has been on screen, he managed to make himself the most hated man ever to walk this planet.
Glad we will never see him and his fucking golden teeth again.
Kudos to Mr. Wick for tearing on out one of those as proof of death.
The terms of the Duel are set, and so is a high bounty on John Wick, so ultimately he can't make it.
Marquis gives his fighting turn to Caine threatening his daughter once again.

The Bowery King and Winston get him the closest they can to the fighting location and set off to go there themselves, as soon as he is sighted, an Army of Assassin's including Mr. Nobody start chasing after Wick.
In the meantime Caine sits having what is potentially his last drink.
Caine needs to win this, because victory means not just his own life, but the life of his daughter is spared as well.
But that cannot happen if John doesn't reach the fight location, so in the Final Stage John is joined by Caine to fight up the stairs to the Sacre Coeur.

The two brother's fight once again, and Mr. Nobody's dog takes a liking for John and so he shoots the final Guard of the Marquis.
The battle is a two gun stand off between the two, where they both deliberately keep missing till the final shot(I am assuming since they are both too good to miss so many times) and John doesn't take the final Shot, leaving the Marquis to think that Caine is the winner so he let's him and his daughter off the hook and takes the final bullet to deliver the Coup de Grace, unfortunately for him John didn't shoot, and now he is vulnerable.

The New York Continental is restored, John is set free and so is Caine, unfortunately John Succumbs to his wounds and his grave is placed next to his wife's.
I like many others do believe that maybe John is still alive because for one Chapter 5 is still going to come out, and for two, that's often the way with these things no? You fake your death to get out forever.
Sure the Table says he is out, but the Table and life are unpredictable, and besides, it seems even though we do not see it on screen, John and Caine had some level of planning that went on behind the scenes to get them both out of this forever.
Maybe if John Lived the Table wouldn't let Caine and his daughter go? Who knows... All I know is that this series is awesome and there is no way they will stop making these unless Keanu grows too old or decides to move on, but then again, Tom Cruise is doing this at 60 so who knows?
