Andor Season 2 Finale, a bittersweet ending to the best Star Wars Show ever

Dedra finally catches Axis

Andor finally ended, and my god what a show it was, this final instalment finally collects all the breadcrumbs that have been laid throughout this season and brings out the big guns, literally, as Lonni risks everything to tell Luthen that he has found what the empire was building, the planet killing super weapon, the deathstar.

Lonnie of course dies because there is no way Luthen is allowing an imperial into Yavin 4 just in case he is a double double agent, Dedra finds hi. However before he can escape after destroying all the evidence and he has to stab himself in the most painful area possible(the gut) to kill himself.

Dedra's overstep was due to her wanting all her pain to be "worth it" and it costs her her job as this was not her but her former assistants job to carry this investigation.

She does get him to a hospital but his adoptive daughter Kleya comes to the hospital and unhooks him for the sake of the rebellion, being forced to kill her father figure who found her and saved her from homelessness and poverty.

She kills him so his dream can live on, there was no other way

Kleya Euthenises Luthen

And then it is to the races to get the message to yavin 4, the message that Luthen died for, by a twist of fate it is of course andor who finds the message and comes to pick Kleya up.

But she has given up as she realizes how little the newer Rebel alliance people like her and Luthen.

And her concerns are right because these people who have sacrificed a fraction of what luthen has done.

Yavin wouldn't be here without Luthen.

But even though he gives everything to get this information to the rebellion senate, their beaurucratic incompetence which would later go on to destroy the new republic and cause the rise of the First Order from the imperial remnant, leads them to dismiss this information.

Until evidence starts piling up for the truth of this information.

The battlestation is ready, the deathstar is coming.

But what about the Empire?

Krennick Confronts Dedra Meero

All the people in the empire are actually pretty good at their jobs, it is likely I said about Andor and Syril, in a different world they might have been friends, infact I might be overthinking this, but it appears that when he was killed Syril was for a moment considering flipping sides after all he has been through.

Dedra similar to Andor so many times before, went against orders and broke protocol in order to get to Axis, in order to finally Crack open the secrets of the Rebellion.

In a different story, this might be treated as a heroic victory as those above her realise the importance of her achievements, but this is the empire, the truth is, in an oppressive regime, no one is free, not even the oppressors themselves.

This duality made me think of the difference between how Isiah Bradley was treated after he saved his men just like Steve Rogers did, the reason for this difference was that those above Steve viewed him as an asset and those above Isiah viewed him as a liability.

In a similar manner those above Dedra see her as a liability but those above Casian see his value despite it all.

Sure the difference between Steve and Isiah are due to racism, while Dedra and Andor serve on different sides of a war.

The cause for this discrepancy may be different but the end result is the same.

Dedra ends up in a Jail cell just like Andor and Isiah. Where she will probably be used as Slave labor and be forced to eat slop and drink water from a tube.

I will point out that this comparison in no way is meant to equate Dedra and Isiah, this is merely pointing out similarities in different forms of oppression, Dedra even though a victim is very much deserving of her fate and responsible for it due to her actions.

Isiah on the other hand did not deserve any of what he recieved, and neither is he in anyway responsible for the racism of his superiors, where as Dedra herself helped foster the environment that lead to her being treated this way.

Dedra is in a Jail cell

And it isn't just Dedra who is treated in this Ironic way, Orson Krenick, who finally seals her fate, if you remember was in Rogue One a Star Wars Story, the first appearance of Andor, and he was the director of project Stardust, also known as Death Star.

And how did he die? He was on Scarif to prevent the rebel team containing Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor from transmitting the Death Star plans to the Rebel Alliance.

And then his superior Grand Moff Tarkin blows him up with his own creation, as he was now a liability.

And then Grand Moff Tarkin dies when the Death Star blows up, destroyed with the symbol of power he so arrogantly held up.

Surprisingly it was Tarkin who caused the first massacre of Ghorman, and it was at this site that the second Massacre was perpetrated by Dedra and Partagaz.

But Lonnies deception has now cast a Shadow on the entirety of the ISB, they are all a Liability, some like Dedra's former assistant are lucky and get taken out by a raging K2SO and treated as a human shield against blaster fire from those he was commanding.

While Others like Partagaz are forced to take their own life or risk a worse fate.

K2SO uses Dedra's ex assistant as a human shield from blaster fire

But in the sense of taking out Liabilities, Luthen is a lot like the Empire, he too will not hesitate to remove people like Lonnie or Tay who are becoming too much of a Liability.

But in the end he never goes as far.

It is as he says "I am damned for what I do, condemned to use the tools of my enemy to defeat them."

But where is the line? What makes them different? How does one make sure that someone like Luthen is better than someone like Partagaz.

Well I mean I believe he is based on how he is portrayed, but what about the people of the galaxy, I mean sure theu dont have to worry because he is not a leader, but what if he was?

How would they feel safe around this man given what he has done.

Sure what he did had to be done, there is no Yavin without him, but did he go too far? Or what if he didnt but he is so used to all this that he does?

So many times in history a fascist leader has been brought down only to be replaced by another.

Napoleon, Maximilian Robispere, Alma Coin, fictional or real, the list goes on.

How does one fight the darkness and not become it?

Are we doomed to go from one darklord to another?

It is times like this that nemiks manifesto comes into play.

There will be times when the struggle seems impossible. I know this already. Alone, unsure, dwarfed by the scale of the enemy.

Remember this, Freedom is a pure idea. It occurs

spontaneously and without instruction. Random acts of insurrection are occurring constantly throughout the galaxy. There are whole armies, battalions that have no idea that they've already enlisted in the cause.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

And remember this: the Imperial need for control is so

desperate because it is so unnatural. Tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle. Oppression is the mask of fear.

Remember that. And know this, the day will come when all these skirmishes and battles, these moments of defiance will have flooded the banks of the Empires's authority and then there will be one too many. One single thing will break the siege.

Remember this: Try.

Andor listens to Nemik's manifesto

This manifesto is more than a simple idea, it is the pure distillation of why people fight, that even if in their fight against darkness they get too close to it, they become the very thing they feared, like Anakin, like Luke almost did, then someone else will carry the torch.

Remember this: try.

And so the Empire remains dumbfounded as this seemingly Random voice recording finds its way into the hands of Random rebels when no one actually seems to know where it actually came from.

The strange thing is the Sith Rule of two is a feeble attempt to replicate this fight for a greater cause, most Sith masters look for an apprentice that will fear them and kill them and carry on the torch, everything sacrificed for the greater good.

The difference of course is, the way they perpetrate their teachings through fear and deciet.

The jedi are almost the opposite in a way, they believe do or do not, there is no try, and sure, that may be true in some cases, but the common public aren't force users.

In a sense it is the Dogmatic views of the Jedi that made the dark side grow so close to them without them realising it, this is what caused Count Dooku, Barris Offee, Darth Vader.

Always remember, the empire didnt defeat the republic, it is restructured from the Republic.

So this is how liberty dies, with thunderous applause.

But Andor has a different fate, as unknown to him Bix has now borne his child, who will carry on Andors bloodline after his death.

Bix carries Andor's baby.

And what are perrin(mon mothmas husband) and B2EMO upto? Well B2 found a droid friend and Perrin also found a "friend" in Davo Sculdun's wife who is now with him.

So much for the sanctity of the Chandrilan marriages.

Also i must call it here, the farmer in episode three did not betray Brasso and the others, Branson was covering for him, this is why Bix comes back to the same planet after leaving the Rebellion.

These people were truly loyal to her and her friends in a sense.
