Daredevil Born Again, Episode 4, So what is this all about? (Spoilers!!!)

No, I am Trying Says Kingpin
Sure my Boi, You are, but what a way to try you have...

So Episode 4, where to even begin? I mean we could start at the death of Hector Ayaala, but this episode isn't about him, no this episode is about Matt finding out what is really at the core of what he does and why he does it, Ayaala is merely a way to get him to confront whatever lies in the in the inner confines of his mind.

But just like any good Daredevil Episode, when the Man without fear moves forwards, so does the man at the top.

So what exactly happens in this episode?

Well I am glad you asked

Matthew visits the Punisher.

Matt and Punisher Meet
Idk, Why is this image so funny???

I mean obviously he does, because the final shot of the last episode was the Punisher Logo, and the bullet casing that killed White Tiger, had the Punisher's Logo on it.

But while he goes to the Punisher looking for Answers, the Punisher being the Punisher, sees right through the Façade and asks him what he really wants.

What Matt is doing right now, in fact what he has been doing since the Death of Foggy is trying to vicariously live as Foggy would have wanted him, do things his way, leave Vigilantism behind, to honor his legacy or something.

He does this because there is no other way for him to face the immense guilt he feels other than do this...

But like the very premier showed us, that is not who he is, and that is not who wants or needs to be, the reports with B Urich that have been scattered through out the episode have been very clear on the city feeling the need for Vigilantes, or for someone, anyone to step in and do the right thing.

They feel that because clearly the system has issues, but Foggy believed in it, and so does Matt, but not really...

In a similar way, Fisk, doesn't really believe in not killing Adam, he doesn't want to give up his life of Crime, but he does.

Because of Vanessa.

Kingpin Threatens his underling.

We see him constantly slipping up and giving way to his other self, the side that will behead a man with a car door simply for disrespecting him in front of his then would be girlfriend.

But like Matt, he doesn't quite get to the part where he is beating people up because he is also trying to go straight.

The fact is though, the mob boss in him is very clearly visible as he visibly holds back his rage after hearing to kids singing off key, and waving off a second song, you see it when he is massively disinterested in the Latvian heritage and you see it when he finds out who leaked his plans to the press over some drinks.

But the fear of those who see his threats is clear, a Mob boss is the Mayor of New York.

But his absence as the Mob Boss is making the gangs run rampant, just like Matt, in his own twisted way, Kingpin not being who he is, is causing the city to be a worse place.

Speaking of it being a worse place, The law keeps letting people down don't it?

One of the main things that make Daredevil Daredevil is the fact that he is a lawyer, he uses Matt to lawyer and serve justice that way, and Daredevil to go after those that the law cannot catch.

In the Netflix show, we saw some of that, I mean who can forget the Trial of Frank Castle?

But here, we see another side of the Law, most cases are solved outside of court like shown in the show, most cases do not see a Judge, a lawyer just negotiates the case.

Now the guy who gets Ten days, Leroy Bradford, I do not think we are meant to feel bad about him, but we are meant to realize that the system isn't exactly helping him either, sure, he can get a job, but really can he? Given his rap sheet, yes, he made that, but you only need one crime to be put off from a Job.

Then why commit the first crime? Well? Environment? Honest Mistake? Who knows?

Yes at the end of the day, he needs to take responsibility but this line, It hit hard.

They are willing to spend more to lock me up than to feed me says Leroy Bradford

I mean, if the system is all about solving crime, clearly, whatever it is doing isn't working on this man, what is the solution? Who knows?

This ain't it though, and the problem is, if he doesn't find some good Samaritan willing to offer him a Job and bear with him, he will probably get worse... and whose fault will be that exactly?

And to put a cherry on top of all this system doesn't work messaging, we get Muse, a super villain who if he is anything like the comics, is really going to rock up the entire city.

Fisk had a "conversation" with Adam, the man his wife cheated on him with, and has him locked up in a basement, with the bloodied painting where Matt beat him up as Daredevil, the stain still remains, as a reminder of who kingpin is no doubt, and what he went through at the Hands of Matt.

And Kingpin eats a well cooked meal in front of Adam, while he can't have a scrap, Adam being alive only because of his promise to Vanessa.

You know with the Presence of Muse, and all the plans I am hearing for the future of the Defenders in the MCU, I wouldn't be surprised if Matt and Fisk actually teamed up to stop this guy and then went their separate ways as Fisk finally develops his Anti Vigilante Task force.

Muse creating "Art".

In the game for the Amazing Spider man 2, he made this in cooperation with Oscorp, maybe this is good news, who knows?

All I know is Daredevil has a Batman closet like every superhero does these days apparently(even Sam Wilson's Captain America apparently) and takes his Batons out to practice again.

Hinting that his faith in the system after seeing an innocent man gunned down like an Animal, has broken down enough.

Question is, when does he find out that the Woman he is dating currently is also the couples therapist for his mortal enemy.

Matt starts practicing again
