Gen V Season 2 Episode 7: It always has to be the Nazis doesn't it.

Hi everyone! Meet our new friend Doug!!!

I don't really know what all I am going to say about this episode if anything, because there isn't really much to say that hasn't already been said.

This Episode confirms what we have been theorizing all along, in that Godolkein is the burnt man and Cipher is... well there is no Cipher, my dear old Doug was just a meat puppet, which is why he felt no pain, had no V in his system and the reason Cipher/Doctor Gold was able to restart Godolkein's research so easily was because it was Godolkein all along.

But that reveal comes a lot later.

The episode begins by Cipher discussing with Godolkein about how the hell Polarity was able to fight off his mind control.

And comes to the decision that now that his power is being questioned, he should probably just end it.

And this whole shit show would have been over a lot sooner were it not for Marie's hero complex of trying to save everyone which lead her to leave the underground bunker, the actual safest place for her and her friends just to go and "save" Godolkein.

Naively thinking that he is a prisoner to Cipher and once healed will help them.

But you know what, like Superman, sometimes Naivete is helpful, will it was actually to Polarity, who is immediately healed by Marie.

And this is when Cipher also sees that Marie is back, giving him hope again.

And so he doesn't end it, goddammit Marie.

You know I was right about the whole Magneto/Prof X thing cause my man Polarity really battles Cipher giving it his all, when really Cipher was just Stalling/playing around while Marie went to do what he wanted all along.

But before we get ahead of Ourselves, everyone else is in a mad hunt for Marie and Cate, because Anna in all her precognition gets a vision that Marie is lying in a pool of blood and Guts.

And as she reveals later, she had a similar vision of their Parent's death, making me think that the V was in her system since the beginning making it so that either the Aunt is a liar and the parents gave V to Anna, or it is just a remnant from project Odessa.

Regardless, the point is, she has been carrying this the entire time, and it has been easier for her to hate Marie than to change it.

And now she must step up.

But before actually getting to that we must have a dick measuring contest between Emma's Ex Sam and her new love interest Greg, who actually can fly, but apparently Sam jumps faster... or so he says.

Would have been better for it all though if he didn't have a new Frat boy to Haze given forcibly to him by his fraternity...

But okay...

All that's fun but not really worth talking about.

What is worth Talking about is that Sage is probably gonna dispose of Godolkein as soon as her work is done.

Because once Marie heals Godolkein it becomes pretty fucking clear that he is a fucking Nazi, and she is black, and well he shows his power by making the Frat boy choke himself to death hard enough to start bleeding from the neck.

And I mean he couldn't just be an evil guy right? You had to make him a fucking Nazi, but anyways, given Sage's track record and given the fact that in the Comics the G men(Yes that is what JOHN Godolkein and his team are called in the comics) are pretty much fucking obliterated by the mainline Vought... yeah.... Things don't look good for you John...

I mean hey at lest they aren't going full comics, for one there was no Sage there.

and believe me, anything is better than how the boys comics handled stuff.

Lets run it again boys!

The impeccable Garth Ennis design philosophy when it comes to superheroes:-

1.This is superman but he eats babies.(yes Homelander ate babies in the comics)

2. Captain America but he's a f*cking coward who got his entire team killed... also he wet his pants.(man this person reminds me of Jenson Ackles so much).

3.We have Iron man, but he is a pervert.(that better not be foreshadowing.)

you go king!

4. These are the X-men but professor X is that uncle your mom warns you about.

Goddammit Garth Ennis, I get that you are bitter but seriously dude.

As you can see the whole thing is the most Juvenile immature attempt to through shade at superheroes, except actual Juvenile immature people can't read it thanks to all the blood and guts.

The Boys show, and in the same vein Gen V, is more mature, and a more grounded complex look at what superpowers can do to a person an how they can have a corrupting nature. Characters are complex they engage in conflicts and bounce off of each other to form a well woven narrative.

You know for once it is good that an adaptation isn't faithful to the source material, Oh wait NO TEK KNIGHT WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

Ah poor Tek Knight, always fucking the Vacuum Cleaner.

I am sure that is a coincidence...

Anyways, all that aside, one thing we do learn that is interesting is that Cate actually has changed, as has Polarity, and the way that the Vought machine gets you is by making you believe that you are the fucking best in the world.

Just like they did with Jordan, Just like they did with Cate, Just like they did with Polarity, and even though she doesn't know it just like they are doing with Marie...

And they once again Succeed because Marie ultimately ends up healing Godolkein like he wanted.

He laid a trap and she fell for it.

But who knows, based on Anna's vision, maybe she will also turn out to be her worst nightmare...

We shall soon see if I am right, but the smart ones know what I am implying don't you kids.
