Spider-Man Far From Home: The deceptive aftermath of a Tragedy...

Spider-Man kneels by a misty graveyard. Tombstone reads "Anthony Edward Stark." Subtitles say, "If you were good enough..."

Cheap Shot Mysterio! Cheap Shot!

You know one of the best things about this re release Marathon is that, while these movie were still coming out, yours Truly couldn't write a Blog Post on them for one reason or the other, But now... He can...

Far From Home back when it came out had a lot riding on it, Damn. Those were the Days... When the MCU had just come out of an Endgame high and a lot of awesome shows were announced for Disney Plus which was like still a new platform, and we were all excited, more importantly... No one had even heard of Covid... God that was a phase...

And it was in this period that Far From Home came out, many people still do not realize that this was the final movie of phase 3 of the MCU and not Endgame.

It was meant to set up the important things for Spidey going forward, someone who was mentored directly by the previous God of the MCU: Iron Man.

And yes, for some reason the theatres decided that it would be a great Idea to have the first Far From Home screenings on Friday and Homecoming on Saturday so as a result, I had no choice but to see this one first if I was to catch all three.

Man with eyepatch and gun sits on a couch speaking to another person. Subtitle reads: "You're a very difficult person to contact, Spider-Man."

But that said, what was the point of this film? And why(in my opinion) was Mysterio the perfect Villain for this movie?

Well... I am glad you asked, imaginary person I just made up.

Bad actors and grifters often Tend to strike when you are at your weakest and looking outwardly for attention and validation.

People like that are the easiest to manipulate as they are less likely to ask questions.

Man in patterned outfit stands in front of drones with bright lights, outside a brick building. Text: "It's easy to fool people..."

The world just experienced the Blip, something that has lead to a lot of Trauma... Twice... Once for the first Snap which lead to insurmountable losses in terms of population and friends, second time for the Hulk Snap, which brought loved ones back, but in the five years... people have moved on... The world has moved on...

And of course there are people like the Flag Smashers who want the world to return to the way it was post Snap.

And Spider-Man is hit possibly the worst of all, not only did his mentor and Hero figure die... he died trying to bring him back to life...

Spider-Man "dies" in Infinity War.

Truly, only Peter could make dying in battle a way to feel bad about himself.

But regardless of all that, he is still Just a kid, Just a boy who wants a normal life, he just wants to go on his school Trip and go on the top of Eiffel Tower and confess his feelings for MJ.

"I didn't think I was gonna have to save the world this summer."

Wanting a normal life isn't a bad thing, and that is what makes what Mysterio did so much worse.

He made Peter Trust him, made him believe that even after the Loss of Stark, he had someone to talk to, about Hero Stuff...

And then he tricked the little boy into being an accomplice in massive destruction and then giving away the one inheritance he had from Tony to the one person he should never have given it to...

Quentin Beck, the person who thinks he created the B.A.R.F. I say thinks because the only source we have for this information is an unreliable one, I can totally believe a Billionaire like Tony stealing an Idea from those who work for him, no matter how unstable he is...

But there is also a chance that Beck is just doing a version of thinking he is more important than he is, textbook Narcissism like Tony except he actually can't back it up.

"There's a void in this world for someone like you."

You know people asked after the movie that what was Beck's plan? What was he going to do once he got the attention he wanted?

He doesn't have powers!

What happens when ultimately, inevitably, he has to fight a real threat?

And to people asking that I will say this...

You are missing the point.

In the aftermath of a Great tragedy, the world needs only one thing: to feel safe.

Mysterio dies while claiming "people need to believe"

The people who thrive in this environment are Snake oil salesmen and scammers...

That's who Beck is...

And just like any of them.

He isn't thinking, it is paper thin because he is a Narcissist. Sooner or later, this was all gonna fall apart, in a sense Spider-Man did him a favor!

And that's the thing with Scammers and grifters, engaging with them is defeat, If Spider-Man had not discovered Beck... eventually, he would have imploded, and Spidey's life wouldn't be ruined either... It's harsh but it's true.

But that's not who Spider-Man is, he is someone who gives everything for the betterment of others...

And that always comes back around to bite him in the ass...

J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson once again after all these years.

And that is why it is so Poignant that J. Jonah Jameson finally decides to show up now...

And in the form that he does, as an Alex jones-esque conspiracy theorist.

In a way, he too is a Snake oil Salesman, he sells what the people want to hear, in fact I think at a point he literally did do an ad for a similar product... I guess in No way Home...

But regardless, he will go on to use Spider-Man as his lynchpin to success, and continue to slander him, after beginning his career with the bombshell revelation of his Identity as he always does....

And somehow that fits in better today than it ever did before, After all, hate sell on the internet!

One other thing people do not relate to the theme of this movie is Nick Fury and Maria Hill being Skrulls in disguise... but it does tie in!

Later in the next film when Peter invokes Fury, he is dismissed, in a sense this whole mission, everything, was a lie, I bet Fury didn't think this was big enough for him to necessarily get involved....

Oh well, I wonder if he faces the consequences or Peter... Seriously though, him not Helping Pete is a shitty thing ngl.

Hill and Fury were Skrulls the entire time.
