The Boys Finale: What are you without your powers?

Yeah well, shit got real real son didn't it?
Fuck I just spoke like Butcher.
Anyways the point is, there was always going to be another way for things to end, and Homelander was always going to get the V1, the Virus seemed too straight-forwards and too... easy? For Homie boi I mean.
No this had to be something more, something grander, more shock and awe, blood and bone, as they called it.
Remember season 3?
The last good season.
Anyways.
As one would expect, Kimiko does get Soldier Boy's powers.
And the first person she uses it on is sister Sage.
Wait what?

Yeah I guess she was the test run.
And then the rest of the episode goes exactly as you would expect.
They show Homelander going even more off the Deep end than he was before.
Including taking Elon musk into space without a suit and just leaving him there, because he disagreed with him.
Now it has been established from the previous episodes that OH FATHER! Is having some doubts about Homelander.
And for a moment it seems he might turn, unfortunately for us our only mind reader has decided to shut the fuck up right when she is needed the most.

Yeah, yeah we know.
And while the entire episode keeps hinting at this... nothing ever comes of it.
Like there is a moment when you think that perhaps Oh Father is just going to take Butcher and Kimiko to Homelander and reveal that he is going to let them kill him.
At least I thought that.
But it is never clarified as there is no time and then he gets killed exactly like Black-bolt in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.

I mean they do it using the Ball Gag that Ashley bought so he wouldn't shoot it out with his powers when she is degrading him...
so if they fucked... would his head explode?

I wish they had gone the route of him turning against Homelander showing that even the most Loyal turn against Such Narcisists eventually... but no.
I guess everyone who even remotely supported Homelander has go to go.
I should have seen it coming, it was a revenge fantasy at the end of the day wasn't it?
I mean even Ashley who rebelled and could have been used as a cover by the boys
I am not complaining, it was satisfying, if not a little stupid.
For example right, Why the fuck did Annie take the Deep near the sea? Like she doesn't know it rejects him!
I mean yeah it does and it all works out for him but like...
See so she wanted to make peace right? She could have simply... said that this is a show of goodwill! And then when he is reminded why he can't go in...

One line man.
One line was all it would have taken.
But nope.
Bro was too busy wtf ing Trump's actions to write you know... his actual show...

I don't think this similarity is a Coincidence, this is a cycle, people like Homelander are ruled by their base emotions, and since all humans share similar base emotions being that we are you know... the same species...
They are very predictable, the same thing keeps happening again and again and again throughout history...
Except... Unlike Homelander, we can't exactly Depower the real dictators now can we?
ANYWAY.
All terrible things aside, Homelander's Final fate is intensely satisfying to watch.
I mean seeing this would have been Tyrant right at the height of his power to be taken down from it and brought to his knees LITERALLY...
And then forced to weep and whine for his life as he realizes that everything that he has done to everyone else is going to be done to him.
They say a man reveals his true nature in his last moments.
And Homelander reveals the inner cry baby so hard on Live T.V.

There is nothing left for him.
Man seriously, I have rewatched this so many times and I am not even ashamed of it.
Especially that part where he tries his lasers and fails and then tries to fly and then fails again.
It is more satisfying than crown for a king by Khal Drogo, no I will not take that back.
And to think he probably would have escaped if he had just been a better father to Ryan.
Because in the moment that it seemed like he will escape, Ryan comes in to hold him down.
Man, you really fucked up didn't you.
But this is it right, like there is literally no way this can go on!
Butcher and Ryan are depowered, Homelander is dead, Ashley is impeached...
Oh no...
The Virus.

Yeah so Terror just dies.
I guess bro is pretty old right.
And I kept thinking as to why they did this, but then it hit me, Terror was shown as Butcher's one connection to his Humanity right?
And so his loss... you know...
For all his shortcomings, at least the good boy had god dreams.
![Homie Boi bends over in Terror's Dream: "[distorted] Well, first, you got to Fuck Me.".](https://static.wixstatic.com/media/84219a_029d3ab3db6447948662c486f001ec15~mv2.png/v1/fill/w_980,h_409,al_c,q_90,usm_0.66_1.00_0.01,enc_avif,quality_auto/84219a_029d3ab3db6447948662c486f001ec15~mv2.png)
Oh my god why would I put that here?
I guess if I have to be traumatized I won't be Traumatized alone.
.......
...............
...
I think this is how Homelander should have died.
No I am not taking that back.
So all this gives Butcher the motivation to speed-run his villain arc.
Which would have come sooner or later.
Like it did in the comics.

And Hughie unfortunately has to do the one thing that he didn't want to.

And the boys relates to the real world yet again.
And so it ended.
The problem is of course, it's not really the end We know Vought rising is coming, Gen V is most definitely getting a season 3...
And oh yeah.
The fuck were the Gen V people doing there?
Wasn't Marie like supposed to be this Chosen one Homelander level supe?
What the fuck happened to that?
She just took some refugees and that's it.
It was like: Oh yeah these guys exist. And then it's like Marvel bringing in and immediately sending back Venom just because.
And it's strange because the same people that made the Boys made Genv,
I just wish they had spent a little less time on Terror's fantasies

Yeah okay Shut the Fuck up Marie, no one asked.
Like literally, not even the Makers of this show I guess....
I mean I wish there was at least some time taken away from Making "epic satire" and given to these characters!
Like She is an Odessa level Supe our Marie... The Same program as Homelander...
Anyways, by the Ending Starlight and Hughie start a Shop and Starry is Pregnant, so after Bob Singer is reinstated as the President and Stan as CEO, Bob offers Hughie a position leading the anti supe department of the government...
But obviously Hughie is already settled down far away from all this.
Presumably, because Starry gorl is still going out and stopping crimes.

And all things considered I like this ending for the two of them a lot better than the one in the comics because there the two don't even know for the longest time what the other is doing.
So all their interactions are just Simon Peg with some Blonde Naked Chick And yes, Simon Peg did play Hughie's dad Hugh Campbel and then got killed by Hughie after becoming a brain dead supe... and.... uh... where is Hughie's mom?
Like we mention Starlight's mom... at least a similar mention of Hughie's mother....
Oh no this whole thing is falling apart at the seams isn't it...
Now the Comics did have a similar but lot less satisfying ending.

And to add to the happy MM and Monique get married again.
Also when I google searched for his wife's name cause I forgot...
It showed me a lot of Breast feeding... and some of it... you know sexual...
So thanks for that Naming department...
Yeah did you know that Marvin's mom was alive in the comics and for his powers he needed.... Mother's Milk...
Yeah the Boys Comic was weird...

Say it with me guys...
1.This is superman but he eats babies.(yes Homelander ate babies in the comics)

2. Captain America but he's a f*cking coward who got his entire team killed... also he wet his pants.(man this person reminds me of Jenson Ackles so much).

3.We have Iron man, but he is a pervert.(that better not be foreshadowing.)

4. These are the X-men but professor X is that uncle your mom warns you about.

Goddammit Garth Ennis, I get that you are bitter but seriously dude.
As you can see the whole thing is the most Juvenile immature attempt to throw shade at superheroes, except actual Juvenile immature people can't read it thanks to all the blood and guts.
The Boys show, and in the same vein Gen V, is more mature, and a more grounded complex look at what superpowers can do to a person an how they can have a corrupting nature. Characters are complex they engage in conflicts and bounce off of each other to form a well woven narrative.
You know for once it is good that an adaptation isn't faithful to the source material...
*Sigh...
Yeah so much for that right?
Hey speaking of What happened to the Ryan and Zoe Storyline? Followed up in Gen V season 3 maybe?
But Ryan is Depowered so IDK... Maybe it didn't work since he is a natural born hero and not given Power's through V.
Although there is Translucent's son Maverick... But maybe he was just given Compound V by his father who knows...
Well I guess if anyone's story ended the worst, it's Kimiko's.

Yeah did I mention that she couldn't do the blast before Saw Frenchie's ghost, who told her it isn't rage that makes her strong even as she feels sad, it is her heart... so she did defeat Homelander with the Power of love...
As cliche as it is, him touching her heart and then it beginning to glow is some epic shit.

I... mean...
*Sigh...
Alright... I wish I could say goodbye... but I know at least Vought Rising is coming...
So Bye but not bye I guess...
They tried to make fun of the Franchise frenzy... and then became a Franchise Frenzy...
