The Boys, Season 5 Episode 3: The System won't die.

Now, Since we are talking about the Boys, it is quite reasonable to start this article with the one part of this episode that I actually liked, and I can already hear everyone gasping as they get ready to revoke my Cinephile card Irrevocably.

But hold on Daddy-o... that's a funny place to say that...

The thing is after the last episode, even Soldier boy has begun to see that Homelander is cracked beyond repair, and at the same time Firecracker, who gave up pretty much everything for her devotion to him, is just as if not more disgruntled by him.

And seeing that even though he sees her as.... a Mother... he doesn't really fuck her like he did Madelyn, I guess the Dad and the Mom finally hooking up makes sense, and I guess at the very least they treat each other with respect...

Which is more than we can say for Homelander, who just goes crazy bathing in breast milk and then sees a vision of Madelyn as an Angel telling him to get immunity to the Supe killer Virus by using V1, and then he suckles at her teat...

Great...

Homelander has a vision of Madelyn as an Angel who tells him to Rip Babies from their mother's wombs.

But his enemy is no better, see if you have read the comics, you will realize that Butcher is just as much if not more of a Villain in the comics by the end as Homelander.

And as this lying man stumbles around looking for Ryan so he can get him to kill Homelander, we see how truly far gone he is.

He doesn't even hide it anymore, he really wants to see all Supes gone, commit Genocide, including himself.

I guess at least that part is somewhat Altruistic.

But one way or the other he sets Ryan on the collision course to Homelander, where he confronts him about Raping his mother, and tries his best to kill him, but it doesn't work and we see finally who is on the other side of this scene.

Homelander beats Ryan to a bloody pulp offering him: Oblivion as per the Trailers.

The thing is though, Ryan is currently in touch with Zoey, the daughter of Victoria Nueman, and they are planning to kill Butcher, Well Zoey is because she saw him kill her mother, Ryan just wants to find him.

And it seems in a sense, Butcher does have true love for the boy, but...

If I am to think about it, it seems this won't last, I have a strong feeling that Homelander will die earlier than the Finale, and the actual Final Boss is Butcher, and not him.

Because Homelander is just a man baby who wants everyone to love him but wont accept him.

Butcher... well he is a Butcher.

I did not come up with this Idea myself, I heard of it first in this video and I guess the more I thought about it the more it made sense for me.

For now, however, we see Butcher kneel in regret before his wife's child, his one opportunity for redemption, at leas I guess he didn't die... at the very least...

Butcher Caresses Ryan's cheek as he lies there injured and barely conscious.

But Homie and sister Sage aren't the only ones who figure out the V1 problem, Sameer does it for the Boys as well, and as a result they go off to search for Zoey and Stan Edgar.

This is a unique sort of interaction, a real enemy of my enemy is my friend situation, because it feels that after all of this, Edgar will still run Vought, he even says so, and yet, here is Mother's Milk smoking a Cigar with him.

Just like Butcher he lied to Maverick about Homelander killing his father.

I wonder then, why they would risk sending him out there, where they know that the Deep, Dogknott, Cindy and Black Noir are waiting for him, knowing that if the lad gets captured, he will probably learn the truth.

I guess they either didn't think it through or that they had no other choice, probably also didn't think that Maverick would be an idiot an fail and be caught by Dogknott.

Strangest part is, if this hadn't happened, Hughie has actually changed, and he is genuinely trying to make amends with Maverick and with Zoey, Neither works obviously.

And as Zoey follows Frenchie and Kimiko back to their hideout, she tells her father Sameer the Truth, and this cycle of lies once again makes the path harder for them.

Kimiko and Frenchie are a different story altogether though.

Kimiko makes Frenchie let Sameer and Zoey go(hopefully the right choice and doesn't bite them in the ass later).

And it seems amongst all of this they are the only couple who are actually happy together, I hope their fate is different than the comics.

Because Kimiko speaks of having children... and usually that means this isn't going to end well...

But I guess for once I would want a happy ending.

And I do say the only healthy couple because Starlight and Hughie are not doing good, while Starlight is happy to see him and be around him, she realizes that that just means that if she looses him, she will really be over the edge.

Cindy tries to kill Hughie, and for a moment it seems she got him, to us, and to starlight, but this is the one time Maverick's superpower played against him, and just like his dad, he dies by his entire body being broken into little pieces.

But this moments long misunderstanding is enough for Cindy to die by starlight breaking her neck, strange, because I thought Butcher did that already... but it seems he left her alive... for some reason...

The man who is out to kill every Supe out there, had a supes neck in a strangle hold, and didn't break it... or rip her in half like Vicky... because of course.

It seems that Starlight and Hughie got separated due to bad writing.
