Ah yes Thank you A-Train, Thanks a lot for appearing at the end of this Godforsaken Dog shit finale and giving the real fans at least some hope towards what's next for the Boys Universe.
And well, what I thought finally ended up happening. Ol'Goddy boi was exactly the one and done Villain that I was expecting, what could have been something on the level of Homelander but much much worse ultimately ended up being the Purple Man.

I mean this role in Jessica Jones was any good pretty much only because of David Tenants amazing acting.
Okay I am being unfair, the character is written well as well.
But seriously, do the writers behind the Boys have to understand that sometimes, proving a point is not as important as writing a good story.
The original boys comics was bad not because of the gore and the violence.
It was bad because of it's intense hatred of Superheroes.
Lets Run it again boys!!!
The impeccable Garth Ennis design philosophy when it comes to superheroes:-
1.This is superman but he eats babies.(yes Homelander ate babies in the comics)

2. Captain America but he's a f*cking coward who got his entire team killed... also he wet his pants.(man this person reminds me of Jenson Ackles so much).

3.We have Iron man, but he is a pervert.(that better not be foreshadowing.)

4. These are the X-men but professor X is that uncle your mom warns you about.

Goddammit Garth Ennis, I get that you are bitter but seriously dude.
As you can see the whole thing is the most Juvenile immature attempt to through shade at superheroes, except actual Juvenile immature people can't read it thanks to all the blood and guts.
The Boys show, and in the same vein Gen V, is more mature, and a more grounded complex look at what superpowers can do to a person an how they can have a corrupting nature. Characters are complex they engage in conflicts and bounce off of each other to form a well woven narrative.
You know for once it is good that an adaptation isn't faithful to the source material, Oh wait NO TEK KNIGHT WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

Ah poor Tek Knight, always fucking the Vacuum Cleaner.
You see Gen V has done this before, like with Tek Knight, there the point was that the powerful are actually just as depraved and useless as her, and here the point is that those in power once freed of their chains will just go fucking crazy and self destruct.

Um... kind of like the Purple man he is just a big baby.
That's what he always wanted to be, and that's what he was.
And while in the case of Marvel this made sense because the Marvel T.V. universe was not meant to interfere too much with the mainline Marvel and also there we did not have a far better villain that Killgrave replaced.
Yes I said it! Cipher was a better villain than Thomas Godolkein.
How can that be if Cipher was just Godolkein controlling Doug?
Well, while this was the case, Ol' Thomas was a lot more in control, a lot more reserved, a lot more calculating, and that really worked...
And now, once he has come so close to everything he has ever wanted, he quite literally leaves his brain behind as he tells Sage that her being so vulnerable is kind of a turn off, and then goes against everything she had planned...
Gods she was gonna ask you to move in, how thick can you be?

And yes while he eventually says yes to that after calling her vulnerability as a turn off, can I just say, I am kind of offended for Sage's sake?
Like... she deserves better... and it's really shitty that most people cant even compare to her, and the one person who can just went against her words and got himself killed...
I mean if you can make me feel sad for the bitch that toppled democracy just to see if she could... You done fucked up dude...
And while we are on people who fucked up...

Marie done fucked up, or Jordan, Idk, well really Jordan is completely in the right for wanting to protect themself, Marie has hurt them so many times, and they know that the path they are on will call Marie to do this again and again.
And they don't want to be angry at someone they love so much....
Marie done fucked up.
What else is there to say about this finale other than it's pretty much what you would expect with Godolkein attempting to "Cull the Herd" and also trying to grow in the process...
So that he can eventually control Marie, which he couldn't before, because she is an Odessa baby, and if he can control her, he can do it to Homelander.
But poor boy bit off more than he can chew and Polarity came in to put a stop to this...
Also obviously Harper keeping her true power of copying others powers a secret really worked out for her, as it did for bushmaster... ugh, imagine being trapped in pubic hair...

Oh and also Emma finally managed to grow by herself, its blink and you miss it, but finally some character growth.
And Mr. God will be even more disappointed to know that Sage set Polarity on him after trapping him and killing Doug using the new Black Noir, it turns out she agrees with me in that Thomas was better when he was a burn victim.

And while this Dark reflection of Dean Shetty definitely got their comeuppance exactly as she did, this just didn't work.
I guess just like in the case of Killgrave in Jessica Jones, they didn't want this spinoff to affect the mainline boys, speaking of that though, the ending definitely teases a rebellion as Starlight and A-Train find the gang and take them in, even Sam and Cate, and that is where this show shines, in its ability to make the most unexpected shit happen and make it believe able.
On that note, how will they explain Cate making Frenchie go away from Kimiko while she spoke for the first time in forever?
Like... Trauma boo.
I guess we shall see.
And what will people who don't watch Gen V say when they see that the one person they hated enough to probably want to kill her, is now on their side?
I guess for something that they tried not to have affect the main show, that definitely did happen, or maybe not, we will see...

But hey always remember, the original Boys Comic was a lesson in how hatred of something, even justified hatred, can become just as obnoxious as the thing itself if it becomes too much.
Do you wanna run it again?
1.This is superman but he eats babi... NO! I think we get it....
