Daredevil Born Again episodes 5 and 6 fitting in while still being free...

Daredevil meets Yusuf and learns of his daughter Kamala
Hey did you know Ms. Marvel also exists in the same universe as Daredevil?

I am sorry, as serious as the Title of this post is, you know I had to make that joke, The first of the two episodes in todays release is a lot of things.

A good episode.

A bottle episode, meaning an episode that takes place entirely in one location usually due to Budgetary reasons.

An episode with a lot of Good action, where a blind lawyer with red sunglasses beats up five different colored mask wearing goons trying to Rob a bank, you know those masks with their silly little eye holes remind me of how kids often throw on a bedsheet with eye holes to scare each other as Ghosts.

Who knows maybe they are supposed to be Ghosts.

And they refer to each other as their color names.

Pacman the Game and Pixels movie's version of Pac Man
Yes, I know you are wondering what is this doing here, keep reading and you shall Find out

Hey is this our live action adaptation of Pacman that we have all been preening for after whatever that was in that movie Pixels.

I mean think about it right, four/five(I accept I forgot to count and am too lazy to do it now) different colored villains, referred to as their colors, a lot of people to save (they represent the dots Pacman eats in this analogy), and Matt is Pacman.

But G.C.Nightwalker, I hear you saying person I just made up, Pacman can't eat the Ghosts, if Matt is Pacman, he does try to save the people but he also beats up the crooks.

Well, in Pixels the movie, Pac Man can eat the Ghosts....

And obviously here the Bank is the maze, and just like the Pac Man universe, Matt goes to the bathroom from one side and comes back from the vault from the other side....

Daredevil Born Again episode 5 is a gritty adaptation of Pac Man, CHANGE MY MIND!!!

Matt beating up the colored goons = Pac Man beating up the ghost cars in Pixels and then Steven crowder saying I know I am right, Change my Mind.
Yes I know I missed the red Masked one, you try getting them all in one Shot...

So, to add to the growing list of Things this episode is, Add a Gritty Pac Man Live adaptation.

It is also a really good Marvel Episode of Daredevil Born again.

But one thing it definitely is, is a teaser for a team up between Daredevil and Kamala Kahn the Daughter of Yusuf Khan.

Who is Ms. Marvel if you didn't know.

And don't worry if you didn't know.

Not only does Daddy Khan take every single opportunity to mention her, he also has a literal Product placement in the form of a custom Ms. Marvel Funko Pop.

And you bet your ass they will be selling that.

And you can be sure of the above Statement just as Sure as you can be of the fact that Kamala probably handcrafted this Funko Pop for her Dad,

The Miss marvel Funko Pop.
Damn Yusuf, that's really disrespectful of you to hang this beauty in front of the really Good Really blind Lawyer

Never have I seen a more blatant Product placement that I have loved more, You know it's kind of endearing in a manner.

The thing is, being a Brown Parent, Yusuf would a hundred percent take every opportunity to mention how happy and proud he is about his daughter.

Brown Parents do that, they like to show off their kids, for better or for worse.

But enough of Yusuf's Daughter, whose name is Kamala Kahn btw, and she has gone to California to meet friends, who totally are not Cassie Lang and Kate Bishop's Hawk eye.

Did I already mention that?

Anyways.

This episode actually does have a purpose, After such a long time of not being Daredevil Matt wont just become Daredevil one day after picking up the Billy-clubs one day to practice.

There is a process he must go through of contemplating what must he do.

And this episode shows him a crucial thing, he can trust in the system, let it do its job and still help out, something he had probably forgotten after the Death of Foggy.

There is this amazing scene where Matt looks up at the sun roof knowing that there is a a helicopter above him, and it looks like he is looking up hopefully at God, as a light shines down on him, showing his restoring of Faith.

Matt looks up at the Helicopter through the sun roof.

This happens right after he makes an active choice to stay in the Danger Zone and let another innocent man leave with his wife, meaning he makes the exact opposite choice of what a Blind Lawyer would be expected to make, in this moment he chooses Daredevil.

He doesn't put on the mask yet, but the Angel in Devil's clothing has risen in him.

To further showcase the Angel in Devil's Clothing motif, Matt does two sleights of hand, one to replace the Diamond in the vault with one of Yusuf's candies and one to put the same Diamond back in the Candy box where it camouflages with the same color candies.

Whether he did these two together or separately i.e. he put the diamond back when he went back to see Yusuf is irrelevant.

Point is, this is a move only a petty thief or a Magician would pull, and Matt is neither, so in a sense he is beating the criminals at their own game.

Another thing that Matt does to further emphasize this motif is take the Red one's mask, put it on, break his blind man's stick to make his Billy Clubs and beats up the escaping green convict as he is disguised as a cop.

And then he breaks his legs in a multiple fracture, only by embracing his side closest to these criminals does he Truly become the Hero that saved the day as now he can match their action Force with an equal and opposite reaction Force.

And on the other side, the one civilian accomplice opens the jewel bag to find a candy.

You will catch signs on her being an accomplice upon a second viewing, firstly she is the first to say there is no cell signal, probably giving a sign to the attackers that wireless communication is jammed, so they can cut the wired ones, she is the first to speak up fearlessly, hinting that she probably knows she is safe, and she is the coolest of them all throughout the entire situation.

And then when you learn she is an accomplice, it all makes sense as to why there was so much attention on her.

The accomplice finds out that the Diamond is actually a candy.

Well actually that's not fair all the Hostages get a little bit of the spotlight, there is of course the recently married couple, but there is also the Old man who has a signed hockey puck stashed in one of the Vaults in the bank, and then there is Yusuf, who is Kamala's dad, this woman, and of course Matthew.

And all the others get a little development as well.

This is crucial as it hones in on why matt is the perfect protector for this city, he is in tune with everyone, he can't see the city, but he feels more of it at a time than anyone else can ever hope to.

Partly this is due to his abilities, partly because as a lawyer he does a lot of Pro-bono work and gets around and has a detective friend in Detective Cherry, speaking of whom, Angie Kim finally comes back here from episode one, and like Cherry, she really doesn't seem to have a comic counter part.

These qualities make him the best to protect yes, but they also deny him and his firm a loan, but they do earn him a friendship that can potentially help him change that and hopefully team up with Kamal one day... hey will Yusuf know his secret identity?

But now that this episode is over, and Angie Kim is back, as good as it was, it left me a little... incomplete... a little unsatisfied...

And what do you know, there is another episode that released simultaneously, and this goes right back to the Darker tone, as it deals with the serial killer muse.

Two Fan girls approach Muse for a photograph and he attacks them being the serial killer he is.

Before going forwards I will like to point out that this above is potentially a nod to the Serial killer fan clubs that pop up all over the internet, and the millions of "fans" some going as far as wanting a romantic relationship with them and thinking they can 'fix' them.

This is very tragic as then these serial killers use this attraction others feels towards them to their advantage.

Basically, don't approach strange looking men in the alleyway kids, even if you think they are famous artists.

There are two things that have been slowly building up in these first five episodes, Matt's slow restoration to faith in his Daredevil side, and these Murals against Fisk that are popping up, and their Artist, the serial Killer Muse.

Both of these come to a head in this episode, as now that Matt saved a group of people as himself, bleeding Matthew into the life of Daredevil, now Daredevil bleeds into the life of Matthew, as heather asks him how he is as he prays, further cementing his restored faith.

And right after this Heather asked if she could be set up with Punisher or Daredevil...

Basically this separation is very close to breaking up.

It get's even closer as Hektor's niece Angie starts following his leads on Muse and get's captured.

And this happens precisely because of Matt's inaction, she comes to him with this, he chooses to still deny his calling, as people do, if he had gone with her, she wouldn't have sneaked out at night and gotten caught...

But she did, and this is the final moment He gives in.

Daredevil says, "Yeah I am here" to Angie

This episode is a breaking point, but not just for the Muse mystery and for Daredevil....

As the Angel rises, so must the demon, and the Demon in Angel's clothing, Fisk finally gives in to his Darker instincts as the party he is hosting to ask the elite for their money makes him hate his place as the mayor ever more.

At first I wasn't sure why he is going in with an Axe towards Adam, when he knows if he kills this man, Vanessa will leave him...

And this scene also is intercut with Daredevil trying to save Angie... which makes it initially feel very out of place...

But then he hands the Axe, to Adam, giving him an equalizer against himself, a much Larger man.

Speaking of Large, his suits ain't fitting him, he is getting Fat again...

In terms of the Story, this symbolizes him letting go, yeah it is Fat Phobic in a way, but back in the day, the food needed to make you fat was very expensive, and so only the richest of noblemen and elite were Fat, nowadays of course it is the cheap food that makes you Fat, but Kingpin is in a sense meant to represent an older Nobleman.

The kind who will torture a man and give him an Axe to "equalize" the situation just so he can have fun beating him up...

And then Fisk gives in, just as Daredevil gives in, and they both parallel each other in moves and their Anger...

Daredevil beats up the serial killer who deserves it, and Fisk a simple artist whose only mistake was going for a consensual relationship with a woman he liked.

Both are beating up artists, both are doing it for a Woman.

Daredevil so he can save her(Angie), Fisk so he can assert his ownership over her(Vanessa)...

And there is a point where it looks they are both gonna let go, or they will loose the woman they are fighting for, Daredevil cause Angie is dying as he fights muse, Kingpin cause if he kills Adam he will break his promise to Vanessa, cheating her all over again...

Daredevil and Kingpin parallel each other in their fights.

Daredevil holds the weapons while muse doesn't(yes he picks up a knife for a while but Daredevil disarms him), Kingpin gives his weapon to Adam, being barehanded himself, Daredevil's are blunt, kingpin has an Axe.

I can keep following this awesome mirroring, but I will stop, because there is another mirror...

Angie's heart slowly giving out mirrors Foggy's heart slowly giving out, and here, she doesn't die, and Matt has another chance to kill and doesn't take it, even though Muse definitely deserved it, but Matt chooses differently and Angie is saved...

Daredevil is truly back, but Kingpin in already meeting him in force...

Just like real life politicians, he is using the brutal murderings by a serial killer and the resulting fear and turmoil to justify his overreach, and creation of the Anti-Vigilante-Task-Force.

Thing is, he has a point, when Sanitation detects a serial killer before the law, maybe the system is failing...

Now let's see if Muse escapes, because all serial killers are cowards, his story is not nearly done, and I want to see if my prediction of Daredevil and Kingpin being forced to work together to face Muse comes true...

Muse is a Vigilante in a way, he is just dishing out his "Justice" by Murder, in the comics, he believes he is "saving" his victims by making them into artworks, and he is in his own way sticking it to the system(Fisk) by his Murals, "too much hatred of something makes you just bad as the thing" much?

Maybe Daredevil will follow that route as well, because, in the comics, there is a time where he beats up kingpin and declares himself as the new kingpin.

And according to a video I just watched(will hyperlink here when I remember which one) the David and Goliath reference matt made is potential foreshadowing for this, as the fight with Kingpin mirrors the David and Goliath fight and post the fight David establishes himself as the new ruler.

Comics Matt becomes Kingpin
