Now someone tell me something okay? Why is it that in both the Adaptations of the Sea of Monsters Percy knows that Tyson is a Cyclops from the beginning?
Like in the Books, Percy Jackson just thought he was a slightly dumb extra clingy friend who also went to the same school...
Like until Anna tells Percy to ignore the mist and look at his true form, he doesn't know the big guy has only one eye.
And that is important cause it is a very good show don't tell way of letting the Audience know how the Mist actually functions...
But right now...
What were they afraid Percy will come off as Racist or something?
I mean sure, they gain the fact that Sally is actually kind and accepting enough to let a cyclops stay and eat with them, and you know, for a bit I actually thought they would hide his face and do the thing in an interesting way, but nope.

One thing this one does have over the other adaptation though is the presence of Tantalus...
Oh who are we kidding, anything is better than those abominations the studio called movies.
But what really needs to be seen is whether this adaptation will actually get a season 3, because even the last one got all the way to the second book, so now it has only caught up.
Still lets talk about it.
The main plot of the second book is of course Luke poisoning the tree that protects the camp from monsters and also just happens to be his old friend, and everyone scrambling to find the Golden Fleece in order to undo the damage.
And these first two episodes do a very good job of establishing this.
As well as showing what the real danger is as monsters attack the Camp through the barrier multiple times.

But the most interesting addition to the lore here is that Chiron doesn't want Percy to go on the golden Fleece chase.
And you know what?
I love it.
Because yeah, how does no one put two and two together and realize that, yeah... Kronos Probably wants this shit to happen...
Well, smart choice or not, it makes Anna betray Percy and as usual has the exact opposite of intended effect.
Percy tries to contact his dad, but instead gets visited by Hermes trying to save his son, just like in the books.
One thing I will say though, this season took the criticism of the previous season of things being too serious and actually did something interesting by embracing it like it did.
