Spider-Man: Homecoming, If you're nothing without the suit, you shouldn't have it.

2016, by this time Spider-Man had gone through two reboots and after a very tumultuous legal battle and agreement finally got a chance to jump into the fucking MCU...
An Origin Story was neither needed nor possible given that by this point in the MCU Spider-Man had made an appearance in Captain America Civil War as an already fully costumed version of himself who had been Spider-Manning for at least a year by anyone's understanding.
But one thing that was indeed possible was a coming of age of sorts for Spider-Man.
A way for Spidey to earn the suit...
Now, in the Andrew Garfield Films, this happened when he saved a kid from dying of falling off of a bridge and gave him to his father, giving the kid the one thing he could never have...
But in this version, things are different, for one, this movie is much more light hearted, so it doesn't have an intense scene of cars falling off of a bridge, no instead Spider-Man breaks a Ferry in half, wait what?

Yeah so one of the things that was criticized about Spidey's appearance in Civil War was that he got a somewhat technologically advanced suit from Tony and that makes his own genius seem less, and... takes away from the fact that he is essentially a kid in a costume, traits that people apparently love about Spider-Man...
Well... this movie decided to take that aspect and make it a strength of this film, Spider-Man does have a Technologically advanced suit that makes his eyes emote like in the comics and cartoons, and does some other things like have 500 web combinations, a heads up display, enhanced combat mode and and instant kill mode for some reason...
Dude Tony... the boy is fourteen...

Alright anyways, the first half or so of the movie is simply one thing, Tony wagging his finger at the kid and saying uh uh uh no you don't, you gotta be responsible, you gotta learn, all the while Peter is doing the exact opposite.
Peter in this movie is basically every teen ever who thinks that just because they are a certain age they can rule the entire world.
Well in his case he wants to save it which is slightly nobler but okay...
Just like every Spider-Man adaptation before it, this one as well continues the Tradition of introducing yet another Spider-Man Love interest: Liz Allan, which I am happy about because she is someone who doesn't get a lot of attention as Gwen and Mary Jane do, But Liz is important as she is the very first person Spidey ever dated and it did not end well, goes to show you don't hit the Jackpot right away...

But regardless, I mention her because apart from hacking the suit so he can prove that he is the best and can be trusted and indeed not irresponsible(good job there, you kinda proved his point no?) Liz is the only person he is interested in.
And it seems she is into him as well, too bad her dad was the vulture...
Did that happen in the comics? I doubt it, It's Liz Allan not Liz Toomes, Idk maybe she uses her mom's maiden name, it's not that uncommon, unless its Allan Toomes, god help us.
But regardless Peter tries to capture the Vulture many times after Tony seems to blow it off in his face and tells him to leave it alone, but Peter doesn't listen as a result two Chitauri cores blow up, one in a lift endangering his classmates.
Thankfully he got there in the nick of time...

But when it comes to the ferry....
Yeah bro messed up...
Tony sees in this kid a version of himself who is inevitably going to make the same mistakes he did...
And so, he takes the suit away...
It is in this state that peter has to fight the vulture and save the Avenger's tech from being stolen as Happy wouldn't listen to him, and only then is he able to earn his name... Spider, man.
I wanted to talk more, but... what is there to say about this movie that hasn't been said already?
It was good to see Iron man again(R.I.P.)
