The Karate Kid Part 3, taking it all back to where it started.

Updated: Jun 11

Johnny trains Daniel.

The Karate Kid as a Franchise is very fascinating to me, I mean, when I had first been introduced to this I had seen it as a one of 2010/11 movie. And then I learn about this thing called Cobra Kai and think it's probably a G.I.Joe thing, but apparently it is somehow related to that one random Karate movie I watched with will smith's kid in it, and not only that, but that apparently wasn't an original Movie and Jacket On, Jacket off, was actually Wax on, Wax off....

Whatever that means...

And once learning about the new Karate Kid Movie coming out, I finally gained enough motivation to actually Go back and watch the Original Karate Kid movie alongside the Cobra Kai Series, which I have not... yet...

But then I learnt, that the original Movie had sequels apparently.

And so... here we are...

A third movie that kind of puts a bow on top of everything.

As a first step it takes away Kumiko from us... I mean she got a dancing job with a great company in Tokyo and she just couldn't say no.

Well I mean while the time we lost Ali felt pretty shit, but then this one felt Very realm I guess it is like Daniel said, it's life, I'll survive.

Kumiko isn't returning.

Man this boy is pretty mature innit?

Also did you know that Ali is played by Elizabeth Shue who also plays Madelyn Stillwell on the boys.

Hmm... you know, I am suddenly seeing this franchise in a whole different light.

But what actually happens in this movie? Well for one, Mr. Miyagi wants to start a Bonsai shop, which has been his dream for the longest time, and Daniel is about to go to college.

But Miyagi has no money for the Bonsai shop, because of which, Daniel decides to use his college money to help Miyagi set up shop, despite his insistence against this.

But to throw a wrench in the works is Terry Silver who is a fellow Green Beret to John Kreese who owned none other than the Cobra Kai Dojo, the very same Dojo that the antagonist of the first movie came from.

In the beginning of the second movie there is a small scene in the beginning where Miyagi defeats John outside the tournament location after Daniel defeats Johnny and John decides to humiliate him for some reason.

Past this, every single one of John's students leaves him and this leaves John without a Dojo and no way to pay his rent, and so finally he decides to quit and meet up with Terry...

Terry however, decides to forgive John's rent and take it upon himself to seek revenge for John's humiliation.

And he decides to go the long route for this, by hiring a youngster called Mike Barnes to harass Daniel and Mr. Miyagi into first registering for the all Valleys tournament as a defending champion, and then tricking Daniel into training with Johnny.

He is able to do this only because Miyagi refuses to train him for the sake of simply fighting, Karate is for defense only as he has always said.

Miyagi refuses to train Daniel for the tournament.

All of this just for the most petty revenge plot of all where Johnny deliberately makes Daniel go through an unnecessarily hard training Regimen, causing him severe emotional and physical trauma.

Like Johnny said, I'll make him train in an unfair way and he will thank me for it... or something like that...

Finally after realizing the problem, Miyagi obviously trains Daniel and Daniel still ends up winning, although the unfair training does cause him to be uncharacteristically scared while the fight goes on.
